ZEITRAUM
For this series of posters under the heading "ZEITRAUM" I worked with the Fibonacci sequence. The goal was a visual translation of the mathematical law, which is brought to life in a new interpretation in a three-dimensional space with animation. I worked primarily with simple shapes, which in the arrangement of the Fibonacci sequence should represent both the illusion of infinity in space and a reinterpretation of sequences of movements. The serial character of the posters results from the specific arrangement of the Fibonacci sequence.
The Fibonacci sequence is an infinite sequence of natural numbers in which, starting with 1 and 1, the sum of the last two digits is always added to the last digit, resulting in a number series of 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 .... This addition law is not only found as a growth law in nature, its geometric visualization also leads to the Golden Spiral, which has been referenced in the arts for centuries. The mathematician John Edmark was the first to translate this series of numbers into kinetic sculptures, which led to an unexpected, visually exciting aesthetic in motion sequences.
